Comments & TestimonialsExceptional Experience, Unforgettable Place
Everything about our recent family vacation at the Mallard Bay Resort in Big Bear Lake made us want to return as soon as possible J. Eric and Monique, the owners and on-site managers of the resort are the most genuine and gracious host and hostess you could ask for. They take great care in their property and the vacation experience they provide for their customers, as well as great care and interest in the customers themselves J They are very knowledgeable about the area activities and encourage you to ask for anything you need during your stay. This was our first stay at Mallard Bay Resort. It was recommended to us by another family we met on a prior trip to Big Bear. They could not say enough praises about it either, so we knew we needed to plan our vacation here. From the moment we arrived we were impressed by all the outdoor activities (swimming pool, shuffleboard, ping pong, horseshoes, volleyball.) But most of all the resort has lake access from their property for docking your boat or using the dock to fish from. The ability to fish from the dock made my two sons the happiest fishermen alive. My younger one, who is 6, caught a record for himself of 7 catfish in less than a day. The lake is stocked with a variety of fish, but catfish were the easiest to catch while we were there. As for the accommodations, the four of us stayed in a 2 bedroom/1bath unit with a full kitchen (as they all have), unit 7, the second closest to the lake (unit 8 and 10 are a bit larger and overlook Big Bear Lake). Very clean and well-stocked with all that we needed. We just needed to provide food. There were BBQ’s available to grill on and picnic tables, we used for a dinner, all this is adjacent to the outdoor fireplace. This fireplace area is complete with comfortable seating. Each night Eric and Monique would get the fireplace ready for guests to come and relax in from of the fire, and socialize and roast marshmallows if you so desired. Our family loves to come to Big Bear for vacations. We have made annual trips in winter and summer for the last several years. We have tried other accommodations, but Mallard Bay Resort by far is the best VALUE and EXPERIENCE you will find in all of Big Bear. I encourage anyone thinking of staying here to try it, I guarantee you will find yourself wanting to come back!! Room Tip: Units 8 and 10 have lake view, no noise problems, very quiet, approximately 2 units/building, 2 story (most), 16 units total.
